Jake Twogood of JT Mechanical embodies a new meaning of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning in the Denver Metro area. Honest, Versatile, Attentive and Committed, words Jake firmly believes in whether he is working on the job or enjoying the weekend with his friends and family.
Jake is a third generation heating and air conditioning professional, a part of his family history in which he takes great pride.
"My grandfather, Louie Twogood, started working in the industry in Longmont Colorado after serving in the Army during the Korean War. He later became a known journeyman HVAC installer in Denver and retired, living in Arvada Colorado. My father, Scott Twogood, took to the art of designing and installing systems and also received his journeyman's certificate, designing CADD drawings for Children's Hospital, Lockheed Martin, and the 'Taj Mahal' in Golden. "Installing ductwork came naturally when I started in 2006. It's likely genetic at this point."
A key piece of Jake's success is his unique desire to educate clients about how and why HVAC systems work and the importance of industry and local government codes. Safety is crucial. Jake listens to how clients envision their projects and their heating and cooling needs and guides them in the right and safe way to achieve the desired result. "I have always wanted to help people in life or death situations or times of need, I just never imagined I would find that in the heating and air conditioning industry ."
Starting in 2006 building and installing ductwork at St. Mary's Church on South Boulder Road, Jake calls it "the best of luck" to have learned his trade and HVAC skills working hand in hand with his grandfather and father. Together they worked on projects through out Denver such as: The Denver Ballet Studio, Boeing, Comedy Works, Dragon Racing, The Clock Tower in Littleton and many more commercial and residential projects. Now with over ten years of experience Jake has combined every skill, life lesson, and values his family has taught him, to launch JT Mechanical in 2017. Jake depends on networking, and word of mouth to grow his clientele and is a member of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce, Arvada Young Professionals and Leadership Arvada, graduating class of 2016. Prior to starting his own business, he was Vice President of Dakota Air Conditioning and Heating. Due to his success in growing that business coupled with community involvement via chamber and young professional groups, in 2017, Jake opted to establish his own company visions and never looked back. "I never knew how rewarding it would be to focus one hundred percent on your own company that is an extension of yourself and not have to represent someone else's vision."
Jake loves what he does because he sees value in interacting with clients, restoring the puzzle of comfort at an honest cost, and teaching clients about a topic very few understand. Jake honed his skills as an HVAC service technician and teacher while living in Tallahassee Florida, working as a supervisor. Jake's job was to train new employees with little or no trade experience to become leading maintenance and service technicians, while still completing on call service and the normal service call loads every day. Jake is well qualified to teach as he holds a Master Mechanical License as well as a Mechanical Supervisor's Certificate.
Based out of Golden Colorado, in Coal Creek Canyon, Jake takes on the mountain lifestyle living among the trees in a small cabin. "Much of my spare time is spent completing house projects in the form of remodeling and maintenance. In the odd time that I am not helping clients I can be found on long walks in the woods, playing a challenging game of golf, fly fishing at Gross Reservoir, or hanging out in Arvada with my friends."
JT Mechanical is owned and operated by Jake Twogood. His service area extends from the mountains of Nederland, Black Hawk, and Conifer, to the outskirts of Boulder, Brighton, Aurora, Parker, Greenwood Village, Littleton and everywhere in between. As Jake says, "I go where the work is."
